Security Deposit

Asked 133 days ago

This will be my first time renting a apartment. I am a truck driver and I just got a new job in Abingdon MD. I make great money per week but my credit sucks right now. How hard are they on credit I have cash to pay up in advance to get me started. Then I can prove myself to them.

Talk with the office staff. They are very easy to work with. We never had a problem with them as others have posted. If I remember right, if your credit is not good, there is an option to pay a 2 month security deposit.

Do yourself a favor and go somewere else. There are many nice appartments locates all around Abingdon that are cleaner and charge a fair price for rent.

From what I recall when I signed my lease in 2004:
If your credit is excellent, your security deposit is .5 times your monthly rent.
If your credit is so-so, your security deposit is equal to your monthly rent.
If your credit is bad, your security deposit is 1.5 times your monthly rent.
Again, this was 2004 so they may have changed their policies by now. But as the first poster said, you should call the rental office - they seem quite flexible.

everything on your credit report has to be up to date. it does not have to be totally paid off however you have to show that you are making payments. your ecurity deposit will more than likely be two months..

Snoriega's response is the current policy as of November 2007.
