No, but I did get about half back. My roommate had a dog when I lived there who destroyed our carpet and some of the mini-blinds which we couldn't fix before moving out. We also painted our walls and decided not to paint them back to white before moving out (due to roommate issues). I was expecting all of that to eat up my sec. deposit but we still got half of it back about 2 months after moving out. That was one of the things they were actually good about with us.
No. It is more than 7 months since we left Tanglewood Apartment in Arlington Heights (on 31st December 2007),we still did not receive our deposit of US$ 700 back. While leaving we have provided forwarding address and they have promised that within maximum 1 months they will refund the deposit. Tanglewood Apartment Management is not at all responding to my mail correspondence.
No. I accidentally put a burn in the carpet. When I read the damage report, it mentioned that they wanted $400 for new carpet and $100 for cleaning. The question I had here was if they plan on changing the carpet and there were no stains on the second floor, why would they want $100 for cleaning? Either they're just trying to milk us OR they always planned on taking $100 from us in order to clean the carpet and just never told us. Equal likelihoods.
