Does anyone have the dimensions for the "dining room"?

Asked 199 days ago

The little space behind the door, I'm moving in the fall and I would like to start looking at tables, but I'm not sure how big the space is. Thanks.

My boyfriend used to live in these and I must say there isn't much of a dining room: this is more like a size of a studio apartment just slightly bigger but they are safe and great and affordable apartments and a huge alternative to a dorm room. Anyway, if you want a dining room space my suggestion would be to buy one of those tall bar tables (they have two stools that store underneath), that way you can push it up against the wall and store the stools underneath the table and pull the stools out as you need them. That would be the handy thing to do. Good luck! : ) p.s. another thing I've seen for sale is a kitchen utility cart (good for storing things) with bar stools underneath them (or you can buy seperate) and then one side of the kitchen cart flips up (a leaf) and turns into a table for the two stools on that side, the other side you can use to chop and prepare food, etc. Those are very cool for small spaces. But to entertain? It will have to be done in the living room. Here's a website to look at what I'm talking about: allkitchencarts.com of course you can find cheaper versions at target or jcpenney or something.

I do not have the exact diminsons but it the space is about the size of a medium bathroom without the sink, toliet and tub. Hope that gives you more of a visual! And it is really square shaped!

As I recall, the dimensions are approximately 5 feet by 5 feet. The Ikea table I used was 2 feet by 2 feet and it was a bit of a squeeze to get the chairs in, but it was serviceable. I agree with the above posters that a bar table with barstools would be the better way to go.

As an aside, you'll definitely want to get some sort of kitchen cart or small table to put your microwave on, to keep what little counter space there is open. The unit I had did not come with a microwave and I don't think any of the other units do either.

Enjoy it there, it brings back me memories of when me and my DH were courting! Here's about what you can fit in it: a shelf for the TV/stereo in one corner of the living room, a large couch only or a loveseat and a rocking chair (that's about it for the living room for furniture) except maybe a coffee table if you like but if you want storage: storage ottoman would work. The dining room would just fit one of those barstool tables and maybe a microwave cart/microwave. The kitchen fits nothing trust me, few pots and pans and food. The bedroom will fit a bed (double or less) and a dresser and a desk for computer and that's about it as well. So when purchasing furniture think of storage solutions (like things you can hang on the wall and stuff).

So not a queen bed? My boyfriend and I are moving in together, and weren't sure what size bed to get. Thank you for all the advice :)
