If your credit is not its best, will an apartment complex still rent to you?
I ask because I chose to leave an apartment copmlex with a balance that I am paying off. It is on my credit as a judgement, but they did not evict me. Currently I am renting a basement apartment which is not up to my standards because I have nowhere else to go. I would like to know what my options are.

This is 100% a company by company issue. I can tell you that I have personally never heard of a management company that rents to someone who owes another apartment money. That's not to say they don't exist, I just haven't heard of any. You may want to try private owners of condos/townhomes, they don't have the same set of rules that large management companies have.

I would try an apartment locator service. They are free and can find you a list of apartments that work with people with credit or rental history problems. The just may ask for a higher deposit.
