Whats the best place to live in the UWM area?

Most places on the eastside around UWM are not very nice and certainly overpriced. If anyone has any suggestions as to where someone moving back into the area for grad school would like to live... Please give me some feedback.

this backyard is nasty (this is not the only one) a pit bull lives here and the lease says no dogs more that 30lbs this dogs barks ALL the time and at kids too. Yards should be kept up with and its not. ( you cant see but there is dog poo everywhere).
