I am thinkig of renting here as soon as possible since the apartment has a special running. I need as much advice I can get to help me make a decision whether or not I should moeve in. I am worried about the roach issue. Is that improving?

The roach issue was a huge problem when I lived there back in the mid 90ties. They might have improved but I am not sure since I no longer reside in PG County. I WOULD NOT recommend living there at all due to the managements unconcern regarding the noise issue.
If I were you I would check for a special elsewhere as if you move there you are just asking for problems.

i lived there almost a year ago and never had a roach issue. although there was always a mold issue. the maintenance would not fix the problem but instead cover it up. I had mole spores in my living room closet because the people upstairs had a flood. instead of puling out the drywall they simply painted over . I ended up moving ( amongst other things)because of this. also the people next door moved out in the middle of the night in April, and the apartment stayed unsecured until august. five whole months the door was unlocked and trash was sprawled all over the place. i called the leasing office to let them know that i was in fear for my safety of myself as well as my children because the apartment was left open and the hallway lights were out.I personally would not refer anyone to these apartments because they are old and run down( something you do not notice until you have moved all your things in) and let's not mention the rodent problem ( not rats , but the beaver that lives in the "lake that is as big as a 5 year old kid.) RENT SPECIAL? i guess so , you get what you pay for.

i am a fromer resident of 2 yrs ago and i NEVER had a roach issue. From what i see on the forum folks who lived on anything but the top floors did. I lived on the 3rd floor of building 13022, so maybe i lucked out. My building was okay and only had small children. I will admit, buildings with teens were not so nice or quiet. But the mold in the bathroom became an issue, and when i first moved in after the first month, a bat got in my apt & management was not moved. I had to call animaal control to handle it. I would suggest you keep looking.

Be more worried about the neighbors and thugs who hang out there than the roaches. If safety is not a big deal, the roaches can be sprayed for and avoided by not leaving food out.
