Does the management purposely deceive you about the damn lease?



My son needed to leave the apartment 3 months early due to his declining mental health(the place was depressing as hell). This really "nice" front office woman reassured me that we just had to pay 2 months rent up front and give them a written 45 days notice and we could buy out/break the lease...we did EXACTLY that and now they are telling me that the $2200.00 was a penalty fee AND we still had to pay the rent....say what??? I just lost it completely when the "nice" lady turned into devil woman and denied that she said any such thing...hello??
