I've lived in 2 different apartments within the complex. The first was a 2 bedroom in "phase 2," which is the slightly newer buildings on each side of the complex that have the screened in porches that you cannot open at all. I currently live in a one bedroom in the middle of the complex which is "phase 1" and has the porches that have a glass enclosure that can be opened up completely. That's where I noticed a major difference in the utility bills. In the winter it was much more expensive in phase 2. In my current apartment we kept the glass on the porch closed all winter and not only was the apartment a lot warmer, but the cost of heat was definitely less. Our highest DTE bill in Phase 2 was about $170 (for gas & electric) in the winter and lowest was about $40-$50 in the summer (even with the AC running). It ran about $15-$20 less where I live now in the winter. AUM which includes water/sewer/trash is about $25 a month. Then there's cable/internet. You can get a good deal if you get the right person, we pay $60/month for basic cable & internet. Hope this helps. So, basically for 2 people in the 1 bedroom you're looking at about $350-$400 per person a month. I'd recommend requesting one of the apartments in phase 1 if you want to save on your heat bill in the winter.
