Is Runaway Bay suitable for a single, newly-comissioned Coast Guard officer?

Asked 157 days ago

Looking for my first apartment out of the Academy. Obviously I do not have any experience with this process. Runaway Bay seems like a suitable location. I am probably only going to be in the apartment 6 months out of the year as I am going to a ship in Portsmouth, VA.

There is so much to do at Runaway Bay, I use to walk or run everyday around there.I loved to hang out at the pool and the gym is grate. We no longer live there because we got orders but I would say if we got orders to VA again we would so go back to runaway bay.Its so close to everything nice and its grate because its close to the beach but not too far that you cant get to work.So close to the freeway too.I would never live in Portsmouth though. What ever you to stay away from portsmouth some parts of Norfolk and Most of Newport News.I hope this helps....
