Is there anything that can be done about booming bass?
I think "booming bass" is a serious problem in just about any apartment complex, but does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with it? It doesn't usually go on for TOO long, so I think that if I call the cops the "offender" would be gone by the time they get here. What else can be done? I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it just really gets my blood boiling.

If it's a temporary issue you will just have to put up with it. There are noise ordinances in many cities, but you have to catch the offendor and file a complaint. A few possibilities for dealing with noise is to block it with a loud fan or white noise machine. Another idea is to ask the apartment complex to put up signs saying 'Quiet Area' or something similar.
