has anyone else had to deal with AIMCO in NJ? Can't get my deposit back

Asked 164 days ago

They claimed we didn't give notice. We know we did provide notice slipping it in the mail slot twice. They claim didn't receive it and are now charging us penalties for no notice, late fee, and another months rent. It's outrageous! We think its a scam by them so they don't have to give us back our deposit. Anyone else have had similar problems specifically at Hunter's Glen in Plainsboro, NJ. Just trying to see if this is a methodical strategy of theirs in denying deposits to tenants leaving.

Without a signed receipt of the notice, there is no way to prove you gave it. Unless, of course, this is a common practice at this community. Why did you submit the notice twice?? That doesn't seem to make any sense unless you knew there was some kind of problem. If that were the case you should have gone during business hours and dealt with it in person. Give me some more info.
