Why do the Police consider this area so "ghetto"?
I moved into Maryland Farms in Dec 2008. A series of events has truly destroyed my initial happiness. First, I stopped at a gas station store very close to the complex and the door was locked. It was very late so I thought nothing of it. I figured that during late hours customers were relegated to shopping through the window for safety purposes. However, I stopped there mid-day and still had to shop through the window! Clue number one. "Hmmm, I think I may have moved into the ghetto!" Then, I stop at the local liquor store which is in a little mini-shopping area and found people just milling around hanging out - and certain regulars begging for change. Clue number two "Hmmm, I think I may live in the ghetto!" And last, but certainly not least, my apartment was broken into at 3:30 a.m. while I was there, sleep, in the bed. This guy was standing over me, in my bedroom, in my new apartment. Freaked Out! Both the PG County and Montgomery County Police responded and I asked them both straight out - "Do I live in the ghetto?" To which the officer lowered his head and replied, "Yes." The only small consolation he could provide is that most of the calls they get come from the other side of the complex. Hmmph!
