IT ABSOLUTELY DOES!!! i AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS RIGHT NOW. i RECENTLY GOT EVICTED HERE IN DALLAS OVER ONLY A MONTHS RENT IN WHICH i WAS PAYING OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A 1 BED AND 1 BATHROOM. I had family issues where I had to take off of work for a month and I am an engineer. I got behind and once I got behind it was hard to catch up. I stayed in a high end place but with this eviction under my belt you cant get a place anywhere..there are second chance places but they either want you to make arrangements on the property you owed or pay off the debt and even then some have criteria of them being at least two years old. It will go on your credit and it is almost like a repossession to many. Of course each property is different its best to try and get a the debt paid off and hopefully your other credit history is good. I got evicted in the first week of july and I am still looking for a place and have no money to get a hotel...so whatever you do now you are going to have to pay...
