Why doesn't the access gate work?
All the other communities in the area has an access gate that is exclusive to residents. I know there are gates and they look pretty new I'm just curious if anybody knows why they aren't being used.

The access gates are always working, I drive through them everyday with my card. Are you talking about the gates for the condos across the street? As we only have one guard shack gate coming into the apartment complex.

No, I meant gates exclusive to the complex residents.

When I used to live there we all knew that security guard was just for looks and so. He can't stop anyone from entry because it's a public road. They also cancel your card if you are late with your rent or your lease expires.

i lived there over a year ago when they put the gates in on the "condo" side and they never once put them into use. i guess they were just there for decoration? the gates were never once closed. not even once.

Technically W Longboat Blvd is a public road so the guard can't keep anyone out. But they can write down license plate #s of undesirables! The guardhouse gives the impression of a gated community which really works. Before I moved here I always wondered what was over the bridge.

I'm aware of the "Guard shack" on the road but there is also a gate going into the actual complex, at both entrances, that aren't being used. I live on the Bayport side and it's a little disturbing that our complex is one of the most criminalized complexes in the area.
