Most low-cost apartments don't get the best ratings but is Huntington Hollow really so much worse than the average?
I'm supposed to be going on October 31st to sign a lease with them. I walked through and liked it. The only thing I'm concerned with is safety.

Hi,
My name is Todd Slatcher and I am the property supervisor. I'm going to be honest with you because I only want long term tenants. I don't want you to move in with false expectations and move out 6 months. My company has been managing it since Nov. 2008. The worst thing that has happen is a car or two has been broken into. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon thing in Tulsa. I don't think our community is any worst than any other and I hope it is better than most.
We do take security very seriously. Most companies hire what we call curiosity patrols where all they do is drive through the property. They never get out of the car unless flagged down. When we "used" to use them, I watched them drive right by a drug deal doing down (this was another property, not Huntington Hollow). We use a company that actually walks the grounds when they come out. They come out every day/night at random times. If you call the office after hours and complain about noise or anything safety related, we have an answering service that will send them out right away if they don't happen to be on property.
Honestly I don t like websites like this because I find it is only the disgruntled people who complain. What about the other 280+ people living there? If you really want to get an honest opinion, I suggest you go out to the property on the weekend or after work and ask the tenants you see what they think and how long they ve been there. That is out you ll get the best answer.
Sincerely,
Todd Slatcher

Thank you for responding. It is hard because on things like this I see so much negative. I can't afford much but I work hard and deserve a safe, clean place to live. I talked to a tenant while I was there on Friday and she said good things which made me feel better. Everyone who knows where I'm moving has warned me relentless about that area. Not Huntington Hollow specifically but the area in general. But there isn't much I can do about that considering most of the apartment complexes that are in my price range happen to be mostly concentrated within the 21st to 41st garnett area. Once again, thank you for responding.

we had heard of a few car break ins and one apartment break in while we lived there. we were never victims ourselves. however a month before we moved they quit haveing security at night! watch out for roaches after we moved in they were everywhere! we just kept everything clean and put away. we didnt see to many after that i think they just went to other apartments. The apartments changed owner shortly before we moved. Any way i hope you have better luck!!

Thank you so much! I hope there aren't roaches in my apartment, I can't handle that! If there are they will be hearing from me fast!
