There is no way that the landlord would ever allow pets in these apartments. I'm surprised that he even allows people to live there with how picky he is about carpet.

this backyard is nasty (this is not the only one) a pit bull lives here and the lease says no dogs more that 30lbs this dogs barks ALL the time and at kids too. Yards should be kept up with and its not. ( you cant see but there is dog poo everywhere).
