Does the manager have to do something about the fact that sewage has been coming up thruough my toilet for a year now?

Asked 106 days ago

I'm asking this because when I asked them to do something or move me she (the manager) told me that there was nothing she could do. She said that they are old apartments and I just have to deal with it, and I call BS!

Is it coming OUT of your toilet and onto the floor? Is it only when you flush the toilet or is it something else (when it rains, or when you run the dishwasher, etc)?

Raw sewage is nasty. If I were you, I'd call the local health department and have them come out and take a look. I bet they would MAKE her fix it.

I can tell you are not a qualified maintenance person...here is the correct question to ask... Is this toilet backing up due to hygiene products, toys, baby wipes, diapers, etc. being flushed down the toilet causing it to back up? FYI: Dishwashers are NOT tied into the toilets!

I definitely agree with the other answer.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I would call that illegal.

I would also call the local health department and have them come take a look.
They would definitely not be pleased.

Good luck!

Hi, I m the Property Manager of River Oak and I did NOT ever tell you or any other resident of mine to deal with a problem such as this. Call the office immediately so this issue can be addressed PROMPTLY. Rende Kindle- Property Manager

I could be wrong but, for this to actually happen and not be the result of tenants negligance, there would be at least 1 other apt. experiencing the same problem. And has anyone ever been successful at "making" a city or state operated dep do anything they didn't feel inclined to do?
