break a lease

My landlord is under contract with a cable company that has merge with another company now and Im being obligated to sign a contract with this new company for a year (my lease expire in 6 months) and I don't want to do that I don't think is fair ,I contacted the office of my tenant and they said they could not do nothing about it,I told them I wanted to leave if that was the case and they said that i could leave but still pay them the rest of my lease becouse I 'm still breaking the lease ,I think that they are breaking the contract to couse that was not in my agreement that I have to sign a contract with anybody in order to have cable.

If the contract is with the management why would you sign anything? Don't sign and get your own cable. Call the cable company and ask them the scoop.
