How old are your children? I lived there several years ago but from what I see of the current responses, things have not changed. The place has horrible roaches (I've never seen anything like them) and they don't really do much in terms of maintenance. I asked about the ages of your kids, because the elementary school was good when I lived there.

my fiance and I lived there in the entire year of 2007, and the problems we had were:

-slow maintenance request response time (biggest problem)
-roaches
-kids out in front of your apt...(can be annoying at times)
-gang activity
-note that we had no kitchen drawers in a remodled one bed room.

I would rate this apt complex a 3 (out of 10).

Well, I agree with everyone. Roaches, slow maintenance, and also there is a MAJOR problem with leaks from the bathroom and kitchen ceilings AND sinks. Especially if you have a dishwasher. That's where the mold problems come from. And not all of the "remodeled" apartments are remodeled. Some have major appliances, some don't like ours. The leasing office is the worst! It seems like nobody has the authority to do anything except the property manager who is never in the office. I do agree, the school is pretty good. Fortunately I live down the hill so I don't have alot of folks hanging out around my apartment. We are fighting right now to get out of our lease. We have had to sit ALL of our furniture outside because they are infested with roaches. We will take nothing with us when we leave. If you can help it, don't move here please. You will be very upset paying thousands of dollars in rent for nothing but a roof because that's about all you will get. Imagine coming home from working hard all day and you turn the lights on to roaches galore. You can be the cleanest person in the world and they will come. I'm very dissapointed because if management/ Bethany would do some basic housekeeping around here, this would be the perfect place to live. Guess how long we've been here? 7 months. Sad.

Mold is dangerous and considered to be a hazard by the EPA. I would suggest you look up your local Department of Health, you can proceed up to the state level. If the mold is black then I think it's even more dangerous. I would suggest that you go to www.epa.gov and look up mold under the office of Air & Radiation, Indoor Air. A faster route may be to call your congressperson or senator and have them get the EPA person that you need to speak with. If you have asthma or other health related issues, then I would start with the Department of Health.

I've been living here for 4yrs. I just recently moved into another unit because the last building I lived in had bed bugs, and it was entirely TOO many teenagers hanging out in front of my apt. In the begining I had a problem w/ the ROACHES, but when the neighbor across the hall moved out you would see them very seldomly. NOW!!! This so called REMODELED apt. is worse than the last one, i'm on the same row as the rental offc. the building was so STANK!!! from the basement, I was always pouring pine sol, and clorox downstairs, and putting carpet fresh on the outside of the door of my apt. I complained, so they finally came and fixed the leak that was in the basement.(much better now). Let's talk about the ROACHES again, I hate it!!! I moved in this building in July I have never seen so many ROACHES, in my life, it makes me sick.(I don't invite anyone over, because i'm embarassed. I think I wasted my money on Riddex Plus) Thank God I work at night, but it's bad everywhere, big, small, whatever. I called the rental offc. and asked them if I could get an extermination, the gentleman said "Oh it's gonna be a while" what a f****** response, my mouth dropped. I don't know about gang activity, but when I first moved around there in 2004 I heared alot of gun shots.(its mellowed down). I have two kids as well, now as far as they go they like it (but there kids what do you expect, the more kids the merrier for them). The reason why the kids hang out in front of the buildings, and play out in the parking lot is because they have no where "SAFE" to play. They advertise that they have a tot lot, playground however they want to catorgorize it, but it's not equip for kids to play on (none of them). So, if I were you I would continue to keep shopping because this IS NOT the place you would want to live. I love my apt. because it's very spacious (and when I was looking this yr. I couldn't find any with half the sapce) but other than that I hate it!! Oh yeah one more thing, the walls are paper thin, so you may hear your neighbor whipping their kids, havingsex upstairs, or smelling whatever they've cooked for that day in your apt.lol So, if this sounds like the palce for you...... by all means........... GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH

Please see my earlier postings about this complex (posted in August '08). I was naive about things before others posted their responses to my comments. It's now OCTOBER 11th, and the outside security lights have NOT been repaired! They did manage to replace the entrance lighting on the building where I regularly drop off a family friend (at last--thanks!). It's such a nice location; I hope they "come up higher" in their services, repairs, maintenance, security, and amenities--and soon!
