What utilities come paid with rent and how much are all the extas on average?

Asked 155 days ago

I'm considering moving into the Cold Storage Lofts soon, but I'm curious to know how much all the utilities will average on top of my monthly rent. I heard that electricity is the only one that's not covered; is this true? If so, how much does it cost on average? And how much is internet/cable if it's not included?

Utilities are extremely cheap at Cold Storage. The only one you are responsible for is electric and all of the appliances are highly energy efficient and they are all electric (including heater). I have not had a electric bill over $65/month and I like to keep my apartment very warm in the winter and very cold in the summer. Cable/internet is not included (as free) however the entire building is on a "bulk account", meaning you get a very nice discount on your cable/internet that you pay directly to the office. Anything in addition to (like if you want a digital cable box) is billed by Time Warner. It's only $60/month for both cable and internet or $48 if you only want one which is an incredible deal. Utilities will not be a problem here. -Zach

I have a few idea's that can help you. I'm on the 8th (Top) Floor on the west side corner. I have a 1,023 sqr Feet loft. and our bill has not exceeded 130.00 for the 3 highest months of the summer, and is around 80 to 100 in the dead of winter.

I've made several changes I can't all list on here for being 1000 words or less. Please E-mail me and I'll gladly tell you the changes we've made to keep our electric costs down. My e-mail is matthewlp@kc.rr.com

I agree, All electric here. I live on the top floor. and we use are fair share of A/C and Heat, with washer/dryer stove, TV's and multipule computers ect. and Sence I'm on the Top Floor my bill has never been over 100 a month and thats for everything in the prime of winter or summer.

Parking is 60.00 per car, Cable and Internet is 60 for both High Speed Internet and Cable TV, or 48 for either or. Storage is 35 a month for storage Lockers. So yes there are added costs but Cheap other wise. with Utilities. Witch I can honstly say I could never get with Electric and Gas being so high. and I still used 100 a month for electric and 350 for natrual gas during the winter..so I consider this a good deal.

All the Appliences are Bran new and the A/C and heating unit are high effency units. and sence its new its 200 amp electic service..so with my extra TV's like big screens and Computers. Id on't have to worry about turning on the stove, with clothes dryer and hair dryer and worry about a drain or blowing a fuse.

Thank you guys so much! Having an estimate on utilities really helps me out. When I called, an employee told me $75-$100 for a 1BR! I called and talked to Lori just now, too, and she estimated $20-$60.

I'd like to know what part of the building you are in. My light bill has not been below $150.00. In the winter my highest was 200-250. I let Lori know and was told by maintenence and her that I moved into an old building and have old windows, that's what's expected. I'm not the only one with high light bills in the building. That's why I asked, what part of the building are you looking to move in to?
