I lived on the tenth floor from '05 to '07, the side FACING the Greek American Political Club, and noise level was absolutely NOT a concern. Trust me on this. You may have heard complaints, and noise was a certainly a concern of mine when I moved in, but above the eighth level, I'd trust you're OK. Things were nice and quiet.

As for safety, NOT an issue. Although there are certainly some characters in Central Square, I NEVER, ever felt unsafe while walking, even alone at night (11pm-ish). If you have to venture a few blocks outside the square, just be smart; don't do what I did - DEFINITELY walk with a friend. Clubs let out after 1am, even on weekdays, so there are often ppl on the streets.

This is a nice building and the location is great, especially if you travel into Boston frequently. For the money, it's a very reasonable place to live.
