I can't speak for the others that described the domestic violence and sex offenders as I never witnessed any, but do be careful evaluating the lease terms. When I moved out I was charged over $100 to clean the carpets that I had already cleaned! When I asked them why they charged me to clean the carpets when it wasn't necessary, they claimed that they charge everyone for that even though it's not stipulated in the lease. I didn't have a fireplace, but I'd be willing to bet they charge you to clean that too. I was also charged $70 to clean the oven that is peobably as old as the apartment, which I doubt was clean to begin with.
Don't expect to pay anything near what your first lease term was after it is up. We had to pay an additional $150/month more than what we paid the first year!
The turnover in the office if very high. I was there for a little more than a year, and I saw three sets of new faces. Good luck, and I hope I've helped make your decision a little easier.

my bf and I did the same thing. It is nice on the eyes and family and friends are always impressed with how it looks (as were we) on the outside with the nicely maintained lawns and looks. I have issues with the staff and how they negotiate (or rather their lack of) and some things piss me off, but I have come to accept the fact that somethings will be out of my control when it's not my property. It is farther away from everything which usually asks for an extra 10 min in planning and driving, but if u don't mind the extra gas it's not that bad. I would recommend a 2nd floor apt that faces away from the sunset. There's a big difference in heat retention when the sunset is on your side it gets downright HOT, and the 2nd level apts have a raised ceiling that makes the rooms look 10 times bigger. Good luck, whatever you choose. I'm leaving here in 2 weeks after having stayed 2 years.

Yes it is that bad here! Please check Megans Law and Family Watch Dog. / Megans Law will give you a accurate update of offenders here. It is really a place you would want to give great thought to moving here. For the price you can get a very nice condo or small house in the area. I urge you to do your homework before making your decision.
The gates do not keep unwanted persons out! They keep them in!
After your lease is up your rent will skyrocket, your cable will be increased, water, garbage, and sewer, increases every month.
I also checked Apartment Ratings and Reviews at www.apartmentreviews.net..good luck!
