How are the Berkshire At Winter Park Apartments?

Asked 121 days ago

I'm looking to relocate to the Orlando/Winter Park area early next year...I have 2 pets & my son will be close to turning 2. how is the area...when I was on vacation in Florida in Aug. I checked out the area & it seemed to be pretty good...nice looking area, close to my family, shopping, attractions, & within an hour or so drive to Cocoa Beach...my hubbie & I loved that! We wanted to hear from some residents..current please...how you're stay has been & if you'd recommend this property to others...We're looking to rent only for a short time (6mo - 1yr) we're looking to buy a house as soon as possible, but in the meantime need a place to stay that's affordable, safe & in a good location. please be as detailed as possible when answering my questions as it will really help us decide whether we should move into this complex or not...thanks so much!!

I wish I could say that the Berkshire apartments were the place to be but I can't. Have you read any of the apartment reviews? You would be better off living in a coal mine.

I really wouldn't recommend it, especially if you have a child. I just moved out a month ago and the entire time I lived there I was afraid someone was going to break in or something, and the management sucks. I live in Azure now an absolutely looooveee it, they didn't make me pay a pet deposit either which really helped since I have two pets as well. The apartments are nice, and if you get a ground level you have a back door off your screen patio that leads into grassy courtyards. It's mainly full sail students but we're all friendly people.
At berkshire i had to listen to this crazy couple fight in the middle of the parking lot and try to run each other over with their cars.

I absolutely love the Berkshires. Most of the people who complain about these apartments don't have the remodeled apartments. All the staff and maintenance people are friendly and very helpful. Any problems we've had have been fixed within 2 days of reporting the problem. The landscape is manicured every weekend. Pools are clean. (though they close at dusk). I go to Full Sail so my school hours keep me returning home late or leaving before dawn, but I don't feel unsafe walking to my car.

Traffic is a constant problem, if you must travel south, you have to make a u turn or 2 left turns. Parking can be an issue if you get home late. Also this apartment complex has a high percentage of college students because of the proximity of Full Sail University and UCF. (However I haven't had noise problems thus far.)

I hope my advice is helpful in your decision in apartment selection. I visited many apartments in the area and and Berkshires gives a lot of bang for the buck. Cheers :)
